San Francisco artist Natalie Craig traveled to Greenland with some of her adventurous friends in August 2025. After they arrived on the island, they sailed together on the Hildur, a small oak hull boat approximately 86 feet long, and explored the fjords around Scoresby Sound on the eastern coast of Greenland. Red Mountain, Basalt and other spectacular fjords belong to the largest and longest fjord system in the world. While she was aboard the Hildur, Craig made a series of sketches of ice and mountains, plus one of fellow traveler Mike, napping, and another of the rigging on the boat. Caveat Lector is proud to publish a few of them, with her permission.
